Attila Hor\u00e1nyi is the director of the BA program in Art and Design Theory at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and president of the Hungarian Section of AICA. He has an MA in Art History and a PhD in Aesthetics, both from E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University, Budapest. Dr. Hor\u00e1nyi was a Fulbright scholar at the Cultural Anthropology Department at Northwestern University. He was a fellow and later board member of the Civic Education Project, and received the K\u00e1llai Grant for three years. He is the recipient of the prestigious N\u00e9meth Lajos Prize (given to art historians and art critics) and for one of his book reviews he received the Opus Mirabile Prize awarded by the Art Historian Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He has been the member of numerous boards, the most notable of which was the Photography Board of the National Cultural Fund, which he also led for two years. Dr. Hor\u00e1nyi frequently organizes conferences in art history, theory of photography and visual culture. His areas of research include modernist art and art theory, design theory, and the philosophy and history of art history. He is also completing a monograph on the autonomy of art, and a collection of published and unpublished essays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Visual artist awarded with the Munk\u00e1csy Mih\u00e1ly award, university teacher. Between 2006 and 2015 he was an external lecturer at the Media Design major of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, and since 2010 he has given lectures at the Photography major of the Budapest Metropolitan University. He was previously vice president of the Studio of Young Artists’ Association. He is a member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers and the Intermedia Department of the National Association of Hungarian Artists. His work has been awarded on numerous occasions: Soros Grant, E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Grant, Derkovits Grant, Munk\u00e1csy Award, and so on. Between 2004 and 2005, he received a creative grant from the French government for the Recollettes of Paris, and in 2006 he was awarded the grant of the Kulturkontakt center, Vienna. In 2014, he received the main prize of AICA (International Association of Art Critics) for his exhibition titled Neue Ordnung (presented in Traf\u00f3 Gallery, Budapest). In 2014, he was included in the selection of the best 30 Hungarian photographers compiled by the magazine Kreat\u00edv (Creative). Since 1985 he has regularly appeared in exhibitions: a solo exhibition at Ludwig Museum, Budapest and different solo or group exhibitions at M\u0171csarnok I Kunsthalle, National Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts, Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center as well as several major towns of the Hungarian countryside. His works have also been displayed abroad: Paris (Grand Palais, Louvre-Caroussel), Montpellier (FRAC), Brussels (BOZART), Helsinki, Bratislava, Warsaw (Palace Ujazdowsky), Bucharest, Vienna, Lisbon, London (Anthony Reynolds Gallery), Trieste, Venice (Villa Manin), Berlin (Akademie der K\u00fcnste), Basel (Art Basel), Taiwan, and the United States of America. His works have been purchased by Soros Foundation in Budapest, Ludwig Museum, Budapest, Budapest Gallery, Hungarian National Gallerythe Museum of Fine Arts, Hermann Ott\u00f3 Museum in Miskolcn and Miskolc Gallery, Public Foundation for Modern Art in Duna\u00fajv\u00e1ros (Institute of Contemporary Art), Hungarian Museum of Photography, Art Gallery of Szombathely, King St. Stephen Museum in Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r, and MODEM Collection in Debrecen, among others. Several of his works are owned by the Irok\u00e9z Collection and the Soml\u00f3i-Spengler collection in Hungary, the H. Ringier collection, and the Kunsthaus Glarus in Switzerland, the public collection of the Stiftung DZ Bank AG in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, as well as by other Hungarian and international private collections. The artist is represented by the acb Gallery in Hungary. She was born in Abidjan, raised in Paris. As creative director and photo editor she founded and self- published the book magazine OFF the wall cultures photo in 2013: 10 books to collect, photography only. The purpose was to publish very young talents and tell another story mixing their work with the well or lesser known archives of established photographers. Each magazine launch came with an exhibition (at Arles, Le Bon March\u00e9, Fotofever, private companies and law firms, and so on…) to continue the promotion of the published artists. She also created and produced magazines for fairs and festivals in 2016 (Arles, Visa, Paris Photo). Since then, Anna-Alix has parallel projects related to photography between France and the African continent. Nestan Nijaradze is joint founder and joint artistic director of the Tbilisi Photo Festival \u2013 founded in 2010 in partnership with Les Rencontres d’Arles. She is also founder and director of the Tbilisi Photography House, an institution for the promotion of photography in Georgia. Between 2007 and 2009 she was editor of Photo Magazine \u2013 the first photo magazine to be published in Georgia. She also works as a free-lance curator, regularly organizsing exhibitions in Georgia and abroad. Donald Weber is the author of four photography books. Interrogations, about post-Soviet authority in Ukraine and Russia, has garnered much acclaim: it was selected to be included in Martin Parr and Gerry Badger\u2019s seminal \u2018The Photobook: A History, Volume III.\u2019 He is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Lange-Taylor Prize, the Duke and Duchess of York Prize, and two World Press Photo Awards. He has also been shortlisted for the Scotiabank Photography Prize. Istv\u00e1n Vir\u00e1gv\u00f6lgyi studied freehand drawing, desktop publishing and photography and earned a master\u2019s degree from library and information studies at E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University. He worked at Origo news portal first as photo editor and then as head of photography between 2007 and 2011 after which he joined MTI Hungarian News Agency and was the head of the photo desk until 2014. He served as deputy director for professional affairs at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center until the end of 2015.
